• Hero MotoCorp to invest another Rs 420 crore in Ather Energy

Hero is set to unveil its first EV in March 2022

In line with Hero’s vision - ‘Be the Future of Mobility’, the Indian two-wheeler company has approved more investment in one or multiple divisions of the Indian EV startup - Ather Energy. Currently Hero’s shareholding in Ather stands at 34.8 percent. Since 2016, Hero has been one of the major investors in Ather’s portfolio and is further increasing its investment. The two-wheeler giant will also deliver its first EV by this quarter.

The research and development of the new electric vehicle is being done at Hero’s Center of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur and Hero Tech Center Germany (HTCG) near Munich, Germany. The production of the finalised unit will be done at the Hero’s plant located at Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.

Hero MotoCorp has been extensively investing in companies like Ather Energy and Gogoro Inc to develop an entire EV ecosystem that will focus on bringing products, technology, sales, services, customer care, operations, and innovation.
