MG will provide the ZS EV for training on EV components
MG Motor India is in agreement with the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) to educate and promote skill development in the EV component industry. ACMA along with IIT Sonipat will conduct a study on MG’s ZS EV with the goal to research and develop electric vehicle components and further development of the EV ecosystem.
Rajeev Chaba, President and MD of MG Motor India, said, “MG Motor and ACMA will collaboratively add value to the EV component industry by imparting education and skill development to create a future-ready workforce. The alliance is also aligned with MG’s vision of CASE mobility, learning & skill development, and overall commitment to strengthening the EV ecosystem.”
Sunjay J Kapur, President of ACMA said “We are grateful to MG Motor for providing us with this opportunity. A future-ready workforce for manufacturing electric vehicles is the need of the hour and this collaboration will help the auto component makers in upskilling themselves and remaining relevant.”
Prior to this, MG was in an alliance with IIT Delhi – Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology (CART) inline to achieve the same type of goal.
The MG ZS EV is a 5-seater electric SUV priced at Rs 21 lakh onwards. It is available in two variants: Excite and Exclusive. The EV is powered by an electric motor that produces 143PS and 353Nm with a claimed range of 340km on a single charge. Check out our long term update here to know more about the car.
