• Maserati MC20 Italian sports car coming to India this year

This is the second of three cars in Maserati’s upcoming India- line up for 2022

Maserati has confirmed three cars for 2022 in India with Levante Hybrid SUV already in booking phase. The MC20 is a lightweight supersports with just 1,500 kg under its tap, thanks to the chassis made up of carbon-fibre which results in an excellent power to weight ratio of 426PS per tonne.

From the front, it copies the iconic look of the MC12, with the bonnet flowing down towards the oval shaped grille that is now accompanied by the air scoops on the side. The headlamps are now full LED units and same goes for the slim tail lights. It sits on 20-inch wheels powered by Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres. At the back, the lifted bumper reveals the diffusers and above them are a set of circular tailpipes adding to the sporty looks. The interior is finished in Alcantara, and comes with a digital cockpit setup with both the instrument cluster and the infotainment screen is 10.25 inch in size. The MC20 is available in six colour schemes: Bianco Audace, Giallo Genio, Rosso Vincente, Blu Infinito, Nero Enigma and Grigio Mistero.

Features include six speakers, (12-speaker Sonus Faber as optional), smartphone connectivity through Maserati Connect app, virtual assistant offered by Amazon Alexa and Google Assist.

Under its hood, there is a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, twin-turbo motor that produces 639PS and 730Nm. It comes mated to an eight-speed automatic DCT that engages the rear wheels. There are four drive modes to select from: Wet, GT, Sport and Corsa. The MC20 will accelerate to 100kmph in a claimed 2.9 seconds and will max out at 326kmph.

Though with a V6, the MC20 will take on other mid-engine supersports cars like the Ferrari F8 Tributo, Lamborghini Huracan, Mercedes-AMG GT R and Porsche 911 Turbo S.
