• Citroen C5 Aircross facelift revealed overseas

The C5 gets revamped front end and refreshed interiors

The French automaker launched its premium five-seater SUV- C5 Aircross last year in India and now they have unveiled its facelift overseas. For 2022 it gets updated exterior design and new features inside.

The C5 Aircross retains the same silhouette as the outgoing model. However, the front seems to have noticeable change, the split head lamp design has been replaced with the new single unit headlamps with a set of DRLs running across and meeting at the centre, towards the double- chevron logo. At the back it retains the same design, while the rear lights now feature a new design. It sits on the same 18-inch wheels but gets a new alloy design. On the inside, Citroen has updated the central console that now gets black leather finish with chrome inserts. The highlight is the new 10-inch infotainment system that replaces the 8-inch unit, while it continues with the same 12.3-inch instrument cluster.

In terms of features it offers a new, toggle gear selector, storage box with two USB-ports and a wireless charger pad. The plug-in-hybrid version also features three drive modes: Electric, Hybrid and Sport.

The SUV will come with a choice of three engines- petrol, diesel and a plug-in-hybrid unit. While the specifications are yet to be revealed, in India it gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine only that produces 177PS and 400Nm paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

With C5 Aircross already in India, we expect the facelifted version to come to our shores too. The C5 Aircross competes against the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan and the seven-seater Skoda Kodiaq.
