• Lamborghini sells a record 8,405 cars worldwide in 2021

Sales were up by 13 percent in 2021 with the Urus SUV being the best seller

2021 turned out to be a good year for the Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini with 8,405 cars sold worldwide. Its Urus SUV turned out to be the best seller with 5,021 units sold, followed by the mid-engine supercar- Huracan with sales of 2,586 units and with 798 units sold, the V12 Aventador was the third best seller worldwide.

In terms of sales, the USA was the most receptive market with sales of 2,472 units, followed by China that accounted for 935 units, Germany with 706 units and the United Kingdom with 564 units. Lamborghini saw growth in the Indian market with 359 units sold last year. Overall all three regions witnessed growth with - America at 14 percent, Asia Pacific at 14 percent and Europe,Middle East and Africa at 12 percent.

Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said “This record has provided confirmation of four factors for us: the solidity of our strategic plan, our brand’s outstanding international reputation, the competence and passion of our people and the exceptional professionalism and dynamism shown by our 173 dealers in 52 markets, who have continued to invest alongside us at a challenging, uncertain time.

Lamborghini’s current portfolio includes Aventador, Countach LPI 800-4 50th anniversary edition, Huracan and Urus. 

In 2021, Lamborghini also presented its future electrification strategy called ‘Direzione Cor Tauri (Toward Cor Tauri). Over 1.5 Billion Euro is planned to be spent over a period of four years towards the launch of its first hybrid production model by 2023 and electrification of its entire range by the end of 2024.
