• 2022 Camry Hybrid launched at Rs 41.70 lakh

It is powered by the same 2.5-litre hybrid engine as before with few cosmetic changes

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the Camry Hybrid facelift at Rs 41.70 lakh ex-showroom. It is based on Toyota’s TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform which Toyota claims offers improved rigidity and stability. The updated Camry will be available in seven colour schemes- Attitude Black, Burning Black, Graphite Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Red Mica, Silver Metallic and a new option of Metal Stream Metallic.

For 2022, the hybrid sedan gets an updated front bumper with new chrome finish on the grille. The interior is finished in black with wood effect that reflects a composite pattern, along with this it also gets a new 9-inch infotainment display that supports Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The car rides on dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels.

Feature wise it gets adjustable driver seat, Heads-Up display , ORVM, rear seats with recliner, telescopic steering wheel with memory, three-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger and touch panel on the back that provides control for basic functions like- AC, rear sunshade and audio control. On the safety front it features nine airbags, parking assist, clearance and back sonar, vehicle stability control, traction control, hill start assist control, electronic parking brake with brake hold function, and tyre pressure monitoring system.

The sedan is powered by the same 2.5-litre, four-cylinder hybrid engine, coupled with an electric motor which together produces 218PS. The engine is paired to a CVT gearbox with three driving modes - Sport, Eco and Normal. Toyota claims it has a claimed fuel economy of 23.27kmpl.

The New Camry’s hybrid battery pack comes with a warranty of eight years or 1.60 lakh kilometres whichever comes first.

The Toyota Camry Hybrid will go up against conventional ICE-engined cars such as the Audi A3, BMW 2 Series, Mercedes CLA and the Skoda Superb.
