It is the manufacturer’s first foray into the 100cc motorcycle segment
After a couple of teasers, Honda has finally taken the wraps off its all-new motorcycle, and it is called the Shine 100. The Shine is the highest-selling brand for the Japanese manufacturer in India with over 1.15 crore sales since its inception. Priced at Rs 64,900, Honda says the Shine 100 is majorly focused on delivering good reliability and easy maintenance.
Talking of the Shine 100, it borrows its styling cues from the bigger sibling, the Shine 125, with a front cowl and all-black alloy wheels. The all-new 99.3cc engine with fuel injection is OBD2 compliant and puts out 7.6PS and 8.05Nm. The bike is underpinned by an all-new diamond frame. It gets a 677mm long seat placed at a comfortable height of 786mm. The 1245mm long wheelbase and healthy ground clearance of 168mm give it good gradeability to climb inclines even with a heavy load.
Other highlights include a twin-circular analogue instrument cluster, side stand engine cut off and combi-brake system. The fuel pump has been placed outside the fuel tank for easier maintenance.
The Shine 100 will be available in five colour options - Black with the option of red Black with Blue, Green, Gold or Grey stripes. It will primarily go up against the Hero Splendor Plus, TVS Radeon and Star City Plus
